In may 2015 , Guaranty Trust Bank rolled out a service to make things easier for their customers. This service is called GTBank 737 and it allows  customers perform some basic tasks without having to visit the bank.

Gtbank *737* service is a new innovation from Gtbank Nigeria. This service allows you to transfer funds from GTB to GTB or GTB to other banks, load airtime/recharge your phone, pay bills, generate one time pin/password (OTP), open a gtbank account on your mobile phone all from the comfort of your home without internet access. You see, Gtbank 737 service is the future of mobile banking.

With Gtbank 737, GTBank users are able to buy airtime, transfer money , check for pending issues with their account and also check their account balance, all with their smartphone!. Its a life saver!. 

Everything you Can do With Gtbank *737* Service.

The primary purpose of this gtb *737* service was to transfer money from GTB to Gtb or Gtb to other Nigerian Banks and for airtime top-up. Other services were added one after the other.

1.) How to use Gtbank *737* Money Transfer Service.

You can easily transfer funds from your GTbank account to another Gtbank account or to other Nigerian banks like first bank, Access bank, Zenith banks etc from your mobile phone. Gtbank *737* service does not require internet connectivity, all it needs is that you use the phone number associated with your Gtbank account, the *737* money transfer codes and last four digit of your Gtbank Naira mastercard.

a.) To Transfer from your GTBank Account to Another Gtbank Account.

Dial *737*1*Amount*NUBAN Account Number# from the phone number associated with your GTBank account and follow the on-screen prompts. The last 4 digit number on your GTB Naira master card is required for authentication and to complete the transfer.

To transfer 5000 naira to account number 1234567890, dial *737*1*5000*1234567890# and input the last 4 digit on your card when prompt. No service charge.

b.) To Transfer from your GTBank Account to Another Bank.

Dial *737*2*Amount*NUBAN Account Number# from the phone number associated with your GTBank account and follow the on-screen prompts. For example to transfer 10,000 naira to account number 1230456789, dial *737*2*10000*1230456789#. You will also need the last 4 digit on your naira card. This Gtbank *737* service charge is 100 naira.

You can not transfer more than 20,000 naira on Gtbank *737* money transfer service.

2.) How to Open Gtbank Account Using Gtbank *737* Mobile Service Code.

This is one of the easiest way to open an account on one of the best banks in Nigeria. Though there are little limitations on the account open with this method like maximum deposit per transaction is 20,000 naira and maximum account balance is 200,000 naira. But that can be work out by upgrading it later, you will need a national ID card for this. This account is actually for those that are yet to own a national ID card and need an account badly.

To open an account, dial *737*0# and follow the onscreen prompts. An account number will be created automatically and sent to you via SMS. You can even use the phone number you use as your account number at GTBank branches, GTExpress outlets. This Gtbank *737* service is totally free ( you don’t need airtime or data).

3.) How to Purchase airtime/data using Gtbank *737* service.

You can also use Gtbank *737* service to purchase airtime for yourself, for friends or family and buy data for yourself. This service works on MTN, Glo, Etisalat and airtel. There is daily recharge limit of 10,000 naira.


To purchase/top-up airtime for yourself, dial *737*amount# with phone number associated with your GTB account. E.g dial *737*500# to buy N500 airtime.

To top-up airtime for a friend/ third party, dial *737*Amount*Recipient’s number#. E.g dial *737*5000*08063456789# to send 5000 airtime to 08063456789. Card 4 digit needed.
To purchase data for yourself, dial *737*4# on your phone linked to gtb account and follow the on-screen prompt.

4.) How to Check your GTB Account Balance using Gtbank *737* service.

To check your account balance, dial *737*6*1# on a mobile phone number linked to your gtb account and follow the on-screen prompts. You might be charge for this, it depends on mobile network used.

5.) How to Generate One Time Password on Gtbank *737* service.

With the 737 mobile service code, you do not need to carry your hardware token with you ever again. Dial *737*7# and complete with the last six digit of your Gtb naira mastercard. OTP generated is valid for 60 seconds.

6.) How to Pay for Startimes Subscriptions Using Gtbank *737* service.

To pay for star-times subscription, dial *737*37*Amount*Decoder Number#. GTB promise to add more billers soon.

7.) Request for Gtbank Internet banking login details using Gtbank *737* service.

To request for login details, dial *737*6*5# and follow the on-screen prompt to retrieve your mobile/internet banking login details.

8.) Other General Gtbank *737* service enquiries.

For Loan balances, dial *737*6*2#.
For Card status, dial *737*6*3#.
For Cheque book status, dial *737*6*4#.
