You need to know how to wake up at 8:50 am and still make it to a 9 am class. Most importantly you need to know how to cook especially for the days when you need to stretch the last 2k in your account for 2 weeks.
Somebody send us a message from our Mystery Box session. She said ” Matthew, I am tired of eating rice, rice, rice and beans everytime. I am tired of drinking garri either. Can you Please help me with suggestions of what to be eating as a student”
Even though the question cannot go into our mystery box section. I decided to write this articles to tackle her concern.
Here are 10 meals you must know. Lets get Started.

1.Indomie and everything
Indomie and corned beef, Indomie and sardine, Indomie and egg, Indomie and suya. If you are really skilled, you can eat Indomie 7 times a week and it’ll taste new every time. If some people cook indomie for you, Don’t let me say more than that
2. Jollof spaghetti
You know that spaghetti you make with tin tomato onions and one pot. If you are feeling fancy you can add any other senrenre.
3. Concoction rice
It’s not Jollof, it’s not fried , It’s not coconut rice, no one is sure what it is but we love it like that.
4. Risky burger
This one doesn’t even require any skill buy your Agege bread and fry egg and combine the two. If you have extra money, add suya to your combo. Don’t forget to use your frying pan to toast the bread.
5. Eba and anything that resembles soup
Weather na Eba, Amala, Fufu, Semo, Tuwo you like, It could be just stew, or you could buy 50 naira okra to combine with the stew or if na you dey cook pass you can even make some type of vegetable soup. As a Yoruba boy I be, I must to eat eba and egusi at least once a week or else a no go function well. Lol
Any Nigeria Student way no know to make eba should be flog, Abeg no learn am now now. You dey miss
6. Almighty plantain
You can fry it you can boil it you can add beans to it and make plantain pottage.
7. Garri
There are two types of Garri you can make in Uni. When there’s still money in your pocket you add groundnut sugar and even milk. When there isn’t you have to learn how to make garri meant for one person to swell enough to feed three people.
8. Ogi/Akanmu/Pap
Please custard, cornflakes or oats is cost, those ones are reserved for the first week you get pocket money from your parents. 50naira only on Saturday morning will carry you all day.
9. Make beans
All you need is one pot, small onions, tin tomato, and Maggi and you can make magic. When you are tired of eating the beans you can boil rice to join or eat it with bread or garri. I’ve travel round the world, No beans in the world is sweeter than Nigeria beans
10. Egg stew
The beauty of egg stew is that it goes with anything, rice, bread, plantain, yam, anything. I dey use ham drink garri sef. If you say i don suffer, Na you sabi. lol
